Planning a Rural Group Stay

Check each listing's parking arrangements before you travel — a farmhouse with a gravel drive handles a convoy of cars very differently to a converted mews house. If your group is arriving by train, ask us about the nearest station and whether a taxi transfer is realistic, since rural connections can be limited. It's also worth stocking up on supplies before you arrive: village shops exist but rarely stretch to a big weekly shop for a large group, so a stop at a supermarket on the way in saves a return trip later. Evenings in the countryside are genuinely dark once you're away from any town, so bring a torch if you plan to explore after dinner, and pack for the weather rather than the season — countryside conditions change faster than a city forecast suggests.
