About This Experience

A sushi making class at your house: a sushi chef shows the group how to handle rice and roll maki and hand rolls, then everyone eats what they make.

Sushi classes travel well. The chef brings seasoned rice, prepared fillings, mats and knives in cool boxes and sets up on your dining table. Guests learn to spread rice on nori, roll tight maki and cut them cleanly, then move on to inside-out rolls and hand rolls. It runs happily in any rented house with a big table and a sink nearby.

Who Is This Experience Perfect For?

  • Hen Parties
  • Birthday Weekends
  • Corporate Retreats
  • Family Gatherings
  • Food-loving hen and birthday groups
  • Corporate teams wanting a hands-on activity with dinner included
  • Groups who want to learn a skill they can use at home
  • Mixed groups including vegetarians, with cooked and vegetable fillings
  • Houses within reach of a city

How the Experience Works

Every experience is delivered directly to your group accommodation — no travel, no venue hire, no logistics for you to manage.

Perfect for Group Celebrations and Corporate Retreats

Sushi making suits groups who like to try something new, and hen parties, milestone birthdays and corporate away-days all book it. It is more precise than a pizza or pasta class, which makes it quietly competitive, and the finished rolls look impressive on the table. Cooked and vegetable fillings mean it works for guests who do not eat raw fish.

Why Add This Experience to Your Group Stay?

A sushi class makes a good early-evening activity that feeds the group before a night in. Pair it with a gin tasting or a cocktail masterclass, then karaoke or games. Sushi chefs are mainly based in and around cities; for rural houses, availability and travel are confirmed with your quote.

All our experiences are designed to come to you — whether you're staying in a party house, a house with a hot tub, or a country home. Your provider handles all setup, delivery, and clear-down — you just enjoy it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our sushi making class experience

How much does a sushi making class at our house cost?

Prices are £60 per person for 8 to 12 guests, £58 per person for 13 to 16 guests and £55 per person for 17 to 20 guests. The price includes VAT and our arrangement fee. A 20% deposit secures the booking once the chef confirms, and the balance is taken before the event, not on the day. If your house is rural, travel is shown as its own line on the quote.

What if some of us do not eat raw fish?

That is common and easy to handle. Chefs bring cooked fillings such as prawns and vegetable options like cucumber, avocado and pepper. Tell us numbers in advance so they pack the right amounts.

What space do we need?

A dining table or kitchen island with room for everyone to work, a sink nearby and some fridge space for the fillings.

Can we drink during the class?

Yes. Drinks are not included, so bring your own; sake, beer and gin and tonics all go well with sushi.

How far ahead should we book?

Four to six weeks for a weekend. There are fewer sushi chefs than other hosts outside cities, so for a rural house, ask as early as you can.
