The Last Inn — Barmouth harbourside, 15–20 minutes north. A famous 15th-century pub full of character, serving food all day; one of the few places locally that comfortably absorbs a big group. Worth booking your table well ahead, especially on Barmouth's busier summer weekends.
The Davy Jones Locker — Barmouth harbour, in one of the town's oldest buildings, with views of Cadair Idris across the estuary. Seafood chowder, fish and chips and a relaxed vibe — a good, low-key option if part of the group wants a quieter night than the pub.
Bistro Bermo — Church Street, Barmouth. A small, well-loved bistro doing excellent steaks and fish — better for a special dinner for part of the group than the full house, and booking is essential.

The Mawddach Trail & Barmouth Bridge — 9.5 miles of flat, traffic-free walking and cycling along the estuary from Dolgellau, crossing the wooden railway viaduct into Barmouth. The scenic essential; bikes make it a great group day.
Cadair Idris — The 893m mountain at the southern edge of Eryri, with well-trodden paths from Minffordd and Ty Nant. The big active challenge for the fit contingent.
Fairbourne Railway — A 15-inch-gauge steam railway running two miles along the spit at Fairbourne (10 minutes away), connecting with the Barmouth ferry — an easy charmer for all ages.
King Arthur's Labyrinth, Corris — Underground boat ride and storytelling in old slate workings about 35 minutes south; the best wet-weather option in the area.
Barmouth beach — Miles of proper sandy beach beneath the town, with the harbour, amusements and fish and chips close at hand.
