1. Who this is between
You (the supplier) and Butlers With Bums Limited, trading as Group Escape Houses, company number 07699821, registered office 11a North Street, Portslade, Brighton BN41 1DH. These terms apply from the moment your listing is approved and for as long as it stays live.
2. You set the price
You tell us the price the customer pays for each service you list. We list it exactly as you give it to us and add nothing on top. You also tell us where you work and whether you charge for travel; we work out the miles from your base postcode to the customer’s house and add any travel charge to their quote at the rate you set. You can change any of this from your account at any time; changes are checked before they go live.
3. Our commission is 15%
On every booking that comes through Group Escape Houses we keep 15% of what the customer paid for your services, including any extras and travel charges booked through us. The other 85% is yours. The “you receive” figure you see on the sign-up page and in your account is the amount you are paid.
4. We take the money
The customer pays us — a 20% deposit when they book and the balance before the event. You never take payment from them directly for a booking we sent you, and you do not need to chase anyone. We send your payout by bank transfer by the end of the working day after the experience, minus our commission, and email you when it is sent; it usually arrives within a working day. Your account keeps a statement of every booking — the price, our commission and what you receive — which you can download.
To be paid you add your bank details in your account (a change only takes effect once you confirm it from your email) and upload your invoice for each booking, addressed to Butlers With Bums Limited trading as Group Escape Houses. The law requires us to collect the seller details HMRC asks platforms for (for a sole trader: date of birth, National Insurance number and home address) and to report your earnings to HMRC once a year; you get a copy of what we report. We may hold a payout while we check a change of bank details or if these details are missing. If a customer is refunded after you have been paid, the amount you were overpaid comes off your next payout.
5. Bookings that come through us stay with us
If a customer we introduced rebooks you within 12 months, that booking is treated as coming through us and the same commission applies. This is what pays for the marketing that found them in the first place. If a customer contacts you directly and you are unsure where they came from, ask us.
6. Requests, instant booking and turning up
You choose, for each service, whether groups can book it instantly or we check with you first. If we check first, we email you each request and show it in your account: accept it, decline it, or suggest another time within the hours you set (never more than 24). No answer in time counts as a no, and we offer the booking to another supplier. Saying yes holds the date for the group while they pay; once they have paid, it is booked.
If you choose instant booking, groups can book any date your calendar shows as free, so you keep your blocked dates, or your connected calendar, up to date. Close to the date, or if your connected calendar stops working, we ask you first instead.
Once a booking is confirmed you deliver the experience as described on your listing. If you have to cancel, tell us immediately so we can find the group an alternative. Repeated cancellations move your services to “check with me first” and can end the listing.
7. Customer cancellations
Customers book on our own cancellation terms. You choose Flexible, Moderate or Strict terms, which set what you are paid when a group cancels: nothing, half or the full amount you would have received, depending on how close to the date they cancel. Our customer terms are always at least as strict as yours, so what your terms entitle you to is always covered. Where a customer is refunded, we keep no commission on the refunded amount.
8. Insurance and the law
You hold valid public liability insurance for the whole time your listing is live, and you upload the renewal from your supplier account before the current certificate expires. You hold any licences your activity needs and comply with the law, including age restrictions. You are responsible for the safety of the experience you deliver.
9. Your listing
The photos and words you give us are yours, and you let us use them to promote your experience on our site and in our marketing. We may lightly edit descriptions for house style without changing what you offer. You confirm you took, or have the right to use, every photo you upload. Photos are checked automatically and by us, and we can decline one that is too small, out of focus, carries text or a watermark, or does not show the experience.
10. Ending it
Either of us can end the listing with 30 days’ notice by email. Bookings already confirmed are honoured on these terms. We can remove a listing immediately for a serious breach — an unsafe experience, lapsed insurance, or taking our customers around us.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we’ll email you 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to keep your listing live after that is acceptance.
