30th Birthday Houses

The last big all-friends weekend before life gets properly complicated — so do it properly. A whole house, the whole group, and a birthday that lasts two days instead of two hours.

Why a house

Why 30ths Belong in a House

By 30 the group is scattered across the country and a night out no longer cuts it. A house weekend gets everyone in one place — and unlike a bar, nobody has to shout.

  1. Everyone actually comes

A weekend with a house at the centre of it is far easier to commit to than a night in one city. Give people three months' notice and a bed, and the whole group shows up.

  2. Split it, it's cheap

Divide a whole house between the group and the per-person cost is usually less than a night out with a hotel — for two nights, a hot tub, and a kitchen full of your own drinks.

  3. The party doesn't end at 1am

No last orders, no taxis, no splitting the group across hotels. Games room, hot tub, music on your own speakers — the night winds down when you decide it does.

The weekend

The Shape of a Great 30th Weekend

Two nights is the sweet spot. Here's the format groups use again and again.

  1. Friday evening

Everyone arrives, kitchen fills up, first drinks in the hot tub. Keep dinner simple — pizzas or a big one-pot — and save the effort for Saturday.

  2. Saturday day

A group activity while the energy is high: cocktail masterclass at the house, a coastal walk, or an afternoon in the nearest town. Decorate while the birthday person is out.

  3. Saturday night

The centrepiece. A private chef dinner at your own table is the upgrade groups rave about — or go big on a cook-off and a games-room tournament.

  4. Sunday

Late breakfast, hot tub, group photo, and the slow goodbye. This is the bit people remember — don't book a 10am checkout house if you can avoid it.

30th Birthday House FAQs

What size of house do we need for a 30th birthday weekend?

It depends on how many friends are coming. Every listing states its own sleeping capacity and bedroom layout, so match that to your guest list. Check the dining capacity too — the Saturday dinner needs the whole group around one table.

Is a house weekend cheaper than a big night out for a 30th?

Split between the group, it usually compares well. A whole house divided between the group over two nights often costs each person less than a hotel night plus a big night out — and it includes the venue, the accommodation, and the party space.

Can we party at the house — music, dancing, late nights?

Within reason, yes — that's the point of exclusive use. Every listing sets out its own house rules on music and noise, and rural properties generally offer more freedom than village-centre ones. If a proper party matters to your group, mention it when you enquire so we point you at houses that welcome it.

What extras work best for a 30th?

The three most popular are a cocktail masterclass on Friday or Saturday afternoon, a private chef for the Saturday dinner, and mobile spa treatments for a slower Sunday. All can be arranged at the house through our experiences team.
