About Boston House
Boston House is the fourth house on The Terrace, a Grade II listed row designed by Augustus Pugin, between Alice Howe and Bannerrigg. It sleeps 15 across seven bedrooms, five of them en-suite. Windermere station and the village are a couple of minutes' walk away, downhill.
The lounge has large L-shaped leather Chesterfield sofas, a living flame gas fire in a Pugin-designed fireplace and a Smart TV. The dining room has a large table with soft chairs and seats 15 using the window seat. The kitchen comes in two sections, with solid oak units, Lakeland slate worktops, a central island with 4 stools, a Belling electric range cooker with 2 fan ovens, 2 full-size dishwashers, a second fridge and a TV. The utility room has an American fridge freezer with ice maker, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Down in the cellar there's a 15-seat cinema with a 75-inch Smart TV and soundbar.
BEDROOMS Every bedroom has a TV. - Bedroom 1 (first floor): king-size, en-suite shower room - Bedroom 2 (first floor): double four-poster, en-suite shower room - Bedroom 3 (first floor): half-tester double, en-suite shower room - Bedroom 4 (first floor): compact twin, uses the family bathroom - Bedroom 5 (second floor): twin, uses the second-floor shower room - Bedroom 6 (second floor): king plus a single (sleeps 3), en-suite shower room - Bedroom 7 (second floor): twin, en-suite shower room
OUTSIDE The walled rear courtyard has a raised slate patio, a large teak table and chairs, and the 7-seat hot tub, with views towards Orrest Head. There's a charcoal barbecue (April to October) and a small front patio table for 3 that catches the sun. Parking for 8 cars, and an EV charger shared with Alice Howe next door.
GOOD TO KNOW - Four heating zones, each with its own thermostat - Up to 4 dogs welcome, £30 each - 2 travel cots and 2 high chairs - Check-in 4pm, check-out 10am. Monday and Friday starts - No ground-floor bedroom, 4 steps up to the front door and stairs throughout, so it's unlikely to suit wheelchair users - Bigger group? The Orrest Head walk starts across the road. It's about 20 minutes to the top.
