About Greenbank Farm House
Greenbank Farm House is a spacious Grade II listed farmhouse set in beautiful countryside just outside Cartmel, in the southern Lake District. Sleeping up to 13–14 guests across seven bedrooms, it is particularly well suited to family gatherings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, reunions and groups coming together for a special stay. The house combines the character of a historic Cumbrian farmhouse with plenty of space for a larger group. There are comfortable sitting areas, an open fire, a large kitchen and dining space for relaxed meals together, and seven individually furnished bedrooms. Two of the super-king bedrooms can also be arranged as twins when booked in advance, giving groups greater flexibility. Outside, guests can enjoy the garden, a seven-seat hot tub with lovely countryside views, and access to our private woodland. Greenbank Farm sits in a peaceful rural position, yet Cartmel village is only around a mile away, making it easy to enjoy its pubs, restaurants, independent shops, historic Priory and racecourse. Greenbank Farm is also home to The Friesian Experience, our specialist Friesian horse sanctuary and education centre. Guests may see the horses going about their daily routines or being led around the farm, which adds something rather special to a stay here. Private on-the-ground horse experiences can be booked separately in advance; the sanctuary is not a riding or trekking centre. There are three separate guest accommodations at Greenbank Farm, each with its own private space, so we ask everyone staying with us to be considerate of other guests and the peaceful nature of the farm. Greenbank Farm House is best suited to groups looking for a relaxed countryside gathering rather than a party-house environment. With Cartmel, Lake Windermere, Holker Hall, Fell Foot, Grange-over-Sands and the wider Lake District all within easy reach, Greenbank Farm House makes a wonderful base for bringing family and friends together while exploring one of the most beautiful parts of Cumbria.
