Group-Friendly Pubs, Restaurants & Things To Do near Trebrowen

Trebrowen is in Angle, on the peninsula west of Pembroke in south Pembrokeshire. We’d start with the village and nearby coast rather than treat the whole county as equally close. West Angle Bay and the village pubs are local outings; Pembroke, Lamphey and Stackpole need planned drives. We’d choose one booked meal and a manageable coastal outing, leaving time to enjoy the house together. Give non-walkers and families with younger children a shorter option. Check the weather and any range-access restrictions before fixing the day, then make sure every driver has the same meeting point.

Eating & drinking

Where to arrange group meals in Angle

Angle has real eating options, but a big group still needs an agreed booking. We’d reserve indoor seating where possible and ask about current food arrangements, especially at seasonal cafés and pubs that have changed hands.

  • The Hibernia Inn, Angle

In the village, about five minutes’ drive from Trebrowen, the Hibernia takes reservation enquiries that include your guest count and notes. We’d use that to request one table or nearby tables and explain dietary needs. A submitted form is only a request: wait for the pub’s confirmation before telling everyone dinner is settled.

  • The Old Point House, East Angle Bay

Allow about ten minutes’ drive, depending on the final approach. The pub reopened under the Paternoster Farm team in 2026, so we’d ask about its current dining format rather than rely on the former street-food setup. Discuss group seating directly and check the approach tide: the access road can be cut off.

  • Wavecrest Café, West Angle Bay

About five minutes’ drive away, this beachside café advises booking its indoor tables. We’d choose it for a planned daytime stop after a beach walk, subject to the team confirming space or separate tables. Don’t expect the whole group to find spare seats together, and check current times before making it your lunch plan.

  • The Stackpole Inn, Stackpole

About twenty-five minutes’ drive from Trebrowen, the inn has a restaurant and a bar area, with dogs permitted in the latter. We’d enquire about a seated group meal after an estate walk. Give the team the full headcount and ask which room and table arrangement are possible; a table booking doesn’t automatically include space for dogs.

  • The Dial Inn, Lamphey

Allow about thirty minutes’ drive to this village pub, which has a spacious interior, garden and restaurant bookings. We’d consider it for a conventional pub dinner when the group is already near Pembroke or Lamphey. Telephone about a large party and agree whether split tables work, rather than assuming the online booking covers every arrangement.

  • Lamphey Court Hotel, Lamphey

About thirty minutes’ drive away, the hotel offers dining in its Conservatory and Georgian rooms, with table enquiries handled directly. Those separate spaces give you something concrete to discuss for a celebration meal. We’d confirm which room is allocated, the menu and any access needs; don’t assume the hotel’s event capacity is its restaurant-table capacity.

Menus, opening hours and group policies change — always confirm directly with the venue.

Things to do

Things to do in Angle for large groups

Choose an outing for your party and confirm any operator booking or access requirements.

  • West Angle Bay

About five minutes’ drive from the house, the bay makes a straightforward local beach outing without spending the day in cars. We’d agree a meeting point and let guests choose how far to walk. Check the tide before exploring the shore, supervise children around the water and bring dry layers even when the morning starts bright.

  • Angle Lifeboat Station

At Angle Point, about ten minutes’ drive away, the RNLI station publishes visitor information and a contact number. We’d ask whether a group visit is possible and check current times before turning up. This is an operational rescue station, so allow for arrangements to change and don’t promise children that a particular boat will be present.

  • Freshwater West

About ten minutes’ drive from Trebrowen, this exposed beach is a good choice for a bracing walk rather than an automatic swimming stop. The National Trust describes uneven access and says the beach car park isn’t suitable for coaches. We’d share cars, check coastal conditions and give anyone who struggles on sand a different outing.

  • Pembroke Castle

Allow about twenty-five minutes’ drive to the castle in Pembroke. We’d contact the team about a group visit or tour, then leave room for guests to explore at their own pace. Check current times and access information first: towers, staircases and uneven historic surfaces mean the whole site won’t suit everyone equally.

  • Stackpole Estate and Bosherston lakes

About twenty-five minutes’ drive away, the National Trust estate gives walkers a choice of routes around the lakes and coast. We’d select the route and starting car park before leaving the house, with a shorter alternative agreed. Ask about accessible options rather than assume every lakeside path, bridge or coastal section is suitable for all.

  • St Govan’s Chapel

Allow about thirty-five minutes’ drive towards Bosherston, subject to range access. The tiny chapel sits below the cliff and is reached by steep steps, so it’s a poor choice for anyone needing step-free access. Check whether the approach through the military range is open before travelling, obey closures and keep the group away from cliff edges.

Check current tickets, group availability and access directly with the operator.

Practical tips for a big group in Angle

The big shop, getting around and the things worth sorting before everyone arrives.

Good to know

  • Share Trebrowen’s own directions and entrance details with drivers. Angle is the correct village; a general Pembroke meeting point still leaves a separate drive to the house.
  • Arrange the main food shop before arrival and nominate someone to receive any delivery. Ask the owner about the safest unloading area and keep access clear as several cars arrive.
  • Book taxis out and back if everyone wants to drink with dinner. Give the operator the actual property address and allow time for rural journeys rather than relying on mileage alone.
  • Download maps and restaurant confirmations. Agree a fixed meeting place on beach outings so the group doesn’t depend on mobile reception or a last-minute message.
  • Collect access, allergy, child and dog requirements before choosing restaurants. Check the room and seating promised in your confirmation, not just the venue’s general facilities list.
  • Treat tides, wind and range restrictions as part of the itinerary. Keep waterproofs and dry clothes in the cars, check current times and access notices, and switch plans when conditions don’t suit the whole group.
