The Chase Inn
Upper Colwall. Cosy two-bar free house with a beer garden and huge sunset views over Herefordshire — best for drinks and pub food with a smaller party or split group, and a lovely spot to catch the sunset before heading on to dinner elsewhere.
The Malvern Hills Hotel
Opposite British Camp. Bar meals, two restaurants and a hilltop setting; the natural refuelling stop after a group walk on the ridge.

The countryside around Barton Court is proper wine country, with a number of local vineyards offering tours and tastings — a good half-day for the group that doesn't involve a hill or a pub.
The Malvern Hills & British Camp
Walk the ridge from the British Camp car park up the Iron Age ramparts of Herefordshire Beacon; paths suit everything from a gentle stroll to a full-day traverse.
Morgan Experience Centre
Guided tours of the Morgan Motor Company factory in Malvern, plus museum, café and showroom; a genuinely different group activity and mostly under cover (won a national Small Visitor Attraction award in 2026).
Eastnor Castle

- Waitrose in Great Malvern (Edith Walk) is the closest supermarket of size, with a Morrisons in Malvern too; both are about 10–15 minutes from the Colwall side.
- Colwall has its own station (five minutes to Great Malvern, direct trains to Worcester, Hereford and Birmingham).
- Local taxis serve Colwall and Malvern but are limited in number — pre-book, especially for getting a group back over the hill at night.
- Barton Court has parking for 50 cars, which takes the stress out of a big group arriving in convoy — worth knowing given how narrow the country lanes on this side of the hills can get.
- The dining room at Barton Court seats up to 40, so even a full-house booking can sit down together for one meal rather than splitting across sittings.
- Check-in at Barton Court is from 3pm and check-out 10am, with a two-night minimum stay — worth factoring into travel plans if people are arriving from different directions.
- Barton Court also has good transport links and is close to motorway access, so it works as a base for a group travelling in from several different parts of the country.
- There are dog walking routes and cycling routes right from the property, so anyone bringing a dog or a bike doesn't need to load the car again once you've arrived.
